Officials at “The Strip” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway have announced race and car show classes for the April 20 – 21 Fun Ford Weekend Series.

Ford racers from all across the southwestern US will be looking to cash in at Las Vegas Fun Ford Weekend
“We’re very excited to have the Fun Ford Weekend Series coming to America’s Greatest Dragstrip,” said Chris Blair, Las Vegas Motor Speedway Vice President of Racing Operations. “The response from racers, sponsors, car clubs, vendors and fans has been tremendous and it should be an incredible weekend for not only Ford enthusiasts but for all car lovers.”
Being just the second event to leave the line for the 2012 Fun Ford Weekend Series, the Las Vegas event will have something for everyone. “Spectators will be treated to some great drag racing action at the finest National Event facility, tremendous support from some incredible Ford car clubs from throughout the Southwest, a spectacular performance midway, the best “Ford Only” car show in Las Vegas and a fun-filled autocross event right in the middle of the action,” said Blair. “You can bet, there’s no experience like an event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. A first class facility, friendly people and a community that is dedicated to great events.”Las Vegas Fun Ford Weekend Schedule and Details

About Fun Ford Weekend
The family-oriented Fun Ford Weekend series is run by each of the tracks that host the events. Each track creates its own event schedule, racing structure, car show, and if adequate space, will also have autocross competition. The goal of the series is to get as many automotive enthusiasts that have a passion for the Ford brand to participate, celebrate and enjoy the events. As a Las Vegas resident, I am excited to see this show come to town. I am disappointed this event is on the same weekend as Fabulous Fords Forever at Knott’s Berry Farm in L.A. however. This is a huge event and I am concerned it will affect the turnout in Las Vegas. Hopefully it will be rescheduled to a different weekend in the future?
HI Bernard…. check with the track. Fun Ford Weekend events are tough to schedule because it’s a national series and we want to make sure that everyone is happy! Tough to do but we are working on it! Thanks for writing and see you at the track!
I love the fact that you are having an all FORD event, It’s a long way to travel at these prices but I might have friends come. I would like to let you know with the shiney blue we can’t see it hardley at all, please change your info to somer other color
Thanks Dennis
I would like more information on the poker run Friday night.
utahstangs.org car club has many members coming to Vegas for this weekend and we would like to know which Hotels around the track are recommended for the weekend stay and can the members enjoy a reduction in rates at those Hotels?
Lance,
Thanks for your question, we’re looking forward to having the Utah Stangs join us in Las Vegas.
The host hotel for this event is:

It’s a newer hotel property that is close to LVMS, with free breakfast and secure parking for race rigs.
See you in Vegas!
When can we expect more information in regards to the cruise/poker run, as far as registration and cost and meeting place? Also, the same information about entering the car show?
When will more information about the car show and poker run be published. Where to meet, registration forms, ect? Is registration required for the poker run?
Need some more detail as this is just around the corner.
Are the any class rules available for the Vegas event. In particular Extreme Drag Radial. We currently run this class with PSCA and want to know if there are going to be any differences in the rules. Also, will this class be an 1/8-mile class like current PSCA class rules or will it be 1/4-mile. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Open Comp format should be as dial in, not heads up right? And what is the cost of the test-n-tune on Friday? What is the ET cutoff in Pro Class?
Thanks.
