Rockingham Dragway, or “The Rock” will be hosting their first Fun Ford Weekend in 2012 and the event promises to offer Ford racers and fans from all across the the Carolinas a “Rock star” weekend of racing action and car show fun, May 11-12.
“The Fun Ford Weekend will feature something for every Ford enthusiast,” said Steve Earwood, Owner of Rockingham Dragway. “Participants will get an all-Ford Motor Company car show while the drag racers will have a wide range of classes to choose from. We’ll also have a large swap meet area and the world’s fastest wheelstander, Danny O’Day’s and his ’34 Roadster roaring down The Rock quarter mile at speeds in excess of 150 mph.”
“With the remarkable popularity of the Mustang we anticipate a large turnout of the Mustang-faithful, whether participating in one of our numerous drag racing classes or car show classes,” added Earwood. “We will also highlight Mustangs in a special heads-up exhibition drag race.”
“We’re really looking forward to a fantastic Fun Ford Weekend at “The Rock”, said Jeff Lacina, Director of Marketing for the series. “The Ford fans in the Carolinas are as hardcore as you’ll find anywhere. There’s a lot of Ford history in the Carolinas and it’s a part of the country where brand loyalty runs deep. We can’t wait to meet today’s Ford-faithful racers, car show participants and spectators at The Rock.”

Hi John-
As an Oakmont HS alum (Roseville!!)… I am more than happy to get you the info you need! I’ve sent your information to the two gentlemen who handle the amazingly awesome Ford merch trailer and hopefully you will hear back from them. The biggest issue, sadly to say, is that they do the schedule of appearances as early as August the previous year because of demand. But you never know! Thanks for writing! – Gabrielle
