TWO ICONIC BRANDS UNITE: MALLORY IGNITION PARTNERS WITH ROUSH YATES

CLEVELAND (July 15, 2011) – World-class performance companies Mallory Ignition and Roush Yates have come together to create a unique and formidable partnership that fosters better, stronger and faster performance solutions.

Mallory Ignition, a Prestolite Performance brand, and North Carolina-based Roush Yates will collaborate to offer new products and post contingency programs.

“With this partnership, Mallory Ignition can extend its reach into NASCAR, drag, truck and circle track racing,” said Prestolite Performance President Steve Campbell. “We are excited to see two celebrated brands work together to create new, innovative products and grow our respective businesses.”

Products developed through this strategic partnership will give customers the best of both worlds – Mallory Ignition’s decades-long experience in ignition product development combined with Roush Yates’ world-renowned reputation for racing engineering and technical accuracy.

Roush Yates and Prestolite Performance will harness this collaborative energy to launch the Roush Yates and Mallory Racing Ignition system with coil, which will be available at select retail locations and online at malloryracing.com and roushyates.com.

“Earlier this year, Prestolite Performance approached Roush Yates with an opportunity to partner,” said Doug Yates, CEO and co-owner of Roush Yates. “The decision to collaborate came at the perfect time as we were also looking to expand and team up with a strong brand that had a quality reputation and innovative product offerings.”

Prestolite Performance’s Mallory Ignition brand has been involved in the development and sponsorship of the auto racing industry for more than 85 years. With the first Mallory Ignition system winning the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in 1926, the brand brings years of experience in supporting the racing community through product development, contingency programs and trackside technical support for racers.

Roush Yates’ background comes from the joining of engine departments from Robert Yates Racing and Roush Racing – longtime business and racing competitors – in 2004. Combining top engineers and technicians from each company to form the “perfect storm” proved to be an instant success. To date, Roush Yates has won 57 Sprint Cup Series and 53 Nationwide Series races as a provider to notable NASCAR racing organizations, including Roush Fenway Racing.

The partnership also includes more than $75,000 in new contingency awards. Roush Yates will be in the field at races and other events this year, showcasing their co-developed products.

“Strategic alliances work when top brands come together and are better recognized when products hit the marketplace,” said Yates. “We see a groundswell of demand of Roush Yates-branded products from this partnership. Also, being able to work with Prestolite Performance in co-developing certain products that legitimately enhance our engine offerings will certainly make our customers better on the track or in the performance space.”

About Prestolite Performance
Prestolite Performance is a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of auto racing, performance and appearance products. BANDIMERE SPEEDWAY SETS FUN FORD WEEKEND SERIES OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT
The Phil Long Ford “Fun Ford Weekend,” presented by JE Pistons and Roush Yates, of 2011 claims success

MORRISON, Colo. (June 27, 2011) – Thousands of very excited fans attended the first Fun Ford Weekend yesterday under the new ownership of FFW1. Hundreds of show and race cars highlighted the occasion, providing the large crowd of fans with a great day at the race track.

This event was the first of 5 events that will be held throughout the remainder of 2011. The series is already planning their expansion of at least 10 events in 2012.

Drag racing action narrowed to three bracket classes, but featured only two unique names posing for photos at the end of the day, as Thornton, Colorado’s Michael St. Clair went 14-0 on the day to win both Quick Ford and the 5.0 Shootout classes. He did so driving a 1968 Mustang in the Quick Ford category, and a 1990 Mustang in the 5.0 Shootout. He was joined in the Winner’s Circle by Dustin Travis. Travis used a .012 reaction time in the final round to hold off Steve Allen of Northglenn in his 1964 Ford Fairlane.

“Thank you for bring this series back!” shared St. Clair, as he received his hardware at the end of the event.

Jeff Andreen, Charles Sam Rice, and Brad Simonds Sr won individual honors in the Flathead – Inline Nationals held in conjunction with the event.

A 10.5 Outlaw and Max Street heads-up exhibitions showcased the blue oval power with a tease for the future classes to be held at “Fun Ford Weekend” events.

A show field of near 150 participants featuring the diversity only found at a “Fun Ford Weekend” included a Shelby Corral, street rods, freshly restored Mustangs, modern muscle, and tricked-out trucks. Best of Show went to the incredible 2007 grabber orange Mustang of Chris Merkel. Sponsor’s choice went to the 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL of Nick Swanson.

New Ford products were showcased by Phil Long Ford, along with vendors offering productions from Roush Yates, Ford Racing, off road performance, chassis builders, car clubs, event action photos, and more.

Sporty Bandimere, general manager of Bandimere Speedway was at the event all day Sunday.

“The event was awesome! We had fabulous weather and had a great turnout. Ford fans are very excited for the whole Fun Ford Weekend series to be back and very excited for next year as well. From a facilities standpoint we were just thrilled to be able to be the track to kick off the series,” Bandimere said.

The famous blue ovals were viewed all over the speedway as attendees toured the track. Along with the Fun Ford Weekend car show, the event included drag racing, midway displays and featured the Flathead Inline Nationals.

“Everyone enjoyed themselves whether they were racers, car show participants or just Ford supporters. We truly couldn’t have asked for the event to go much better. There seems to be a lot of excitement and enthusiasm in seeing the Fun Ford Weekend series back and obviously they’re looking forward to the expansion of it in 2012, not only at our facility, but across the country next year,” Bandimere added.

The “Fun Ford Weekend” heads to Virginia Motorsports Park for an event on September 10th, followed by events at Palm Beach International Raceway in Jupiter, FL (9/16-18/22), Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX (10/8), and Memphis International Raceway in Millington, TN (10/15) to complete the five event rebirth of the series in 2011. TEAM SHELBY MEMBERS WILL ATTEND FUN FORD WEEKEND KICK-OFF
Sunday, June 26, 2011

MORRISON, Colo. (June 21, 2011) – Fun Ford Weekend is swinging back into action this week as fans, racers and vendors get ready for the 2011 season kick-off at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colo. The event will be held this Sunday, June 26th with gates opening at 8 am to spectators, participants and vendors.

The midway will include displays from presenting series sponsors Roush Yates and JE Pistons, as well as local vendors including Team Shelby Mountain Region.

Team Shelby consists of eight groups: Great Lakes, Mississippi Valley, Mountain Region, Northeast, Northern Plains, Pacific Coast, South Atlantic, and Southern Plains. While many of the Mountain Region members will be represented at the Fun Ford Weekend this Sunday, several other divisions of Team Shelby will be in attendance as well.

“Team Shelby members get together all around the world to share their passion for both the man [Carroll Shelby] and the cars he has produced since 1962,” said Team Shelby Mountain Region Director Jeff Jacobucci.

Team Shelby stemmed from an idea brought about by Carroll Shelby. He wanted a separate club where car owners could come together and dream up new ways to make their cars faster and better, while swapping stories of their latest adventures at the track. His goal was to bring all of these enthusiasts together, along with their Super Snakes, Hertz cars, Cobras, Shelby GT’s, Mustang GT’s with Shelby performance parts, Series 1’s, GLH’s, Vipers and GT500’s.

“Team Shelby is the place for all Shelby Enthusiasts to celebrate everything Shelby,” added Jacobucci, and this Sunday Fun Ford Weekenders will be able to experience the “Shelby world” firsthand.

A Shelby information booth will be on-site where Jacobucci and his wife will have some Shelby merchandise available including three new items from Shelby Signature Foods: a Shelby mesquite barbecue sauce, an all natural Shelby habanero salsa and a Shelby beef and pork rub
http://www.shelbystore.com/category-s/90.htm.

For this Sunday’s Fun Ford Weekend, special parking areas will be available for any Shelby auto1962 and newer, which may be showing and/or racing.

“It’s amazing to see that at 88 years old, Carroll Shelby still has the same passion for building Ford performance vehicles that he did when he was 38. Today you can upgrade your Shelby GT500 to 800 horsepower, and he’s also building a limited number of 1,000 horsepower street Shelby Mustangs. He has a smile and a twinkle in his eye when he talks about that one!” added Jacobucci.

Jacobucci will have three of his personal cars at this weekend’s event: A 2006 Hertz Shelby “Rent a Racer” Mustang, a 1989 #001 Kenny Brown/AutoKraft Short Wheelbase Thunderbird and a 1994 #006 AutoKraft Short Wheelbase Lincoln Mark VIII.
